Dr. Kathryn Ambeau’s path into forensic psychology reflects a long-standing commitment to understanding the intersection of human behavior and the law.

She earned both her master’s and doctoral degrees in applied developmental psychology from the University of New Orleans, where her graduate research focused on the assessment and treatment of justice-involved individuals. Her published work and conference presentations have addressed topics such as juvenile justice, youthful offender treatment, violence risk assessment, and expert testimony.

Following completion of her doctorate, Dr. Ambeau completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical, forensic, and neuropsychological assessment, gaining extensive experience conducting evaluations and psychotherapy with both adolescents and adults. She later served in a variety of community and behavioral health settings, including family medicine clinics, which deepened her understanding of the diverse psychological needs of individuals and families.

Dr. Ambeau is also a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), reflecting specialized training in sexual health and psychosexual functioning.
